The retreat is held in a stone-built villa in the White Mountains of Crete, chosen for its quiet character rather than predictable modern minimalism, with enough room to accommodate up to 12 people very comfortably.

The Schedule

Arrival at the villa.
Arrival on the afternoon of the 1st day. Unpack and relax before welcome drinks followed by a home cooked dinner and sleep.

The 2nd morning we will enjoy a simple breakfast before starting our first cooking class around 11:00 where we learn the basics of dips, breads and olive oil. Lunch will including the very dishes you helped to create!
The rest of the day will be free to lounge around the villa before everyone gathers to help with dinner as a group.

The 3rd day will begin with a quick breakfast before heading off for one of our excursions (weather dependant), followed by a delicious lunch out. Then back home to relax and have a light dinner as a group before bed.

The 4th day we begin with learning to make Greek coffee and experiencing the fun tradition of reading one's future in the coffee grounds. The rest of the morning will be free until after a cold lunch whereupon we will learn to prepare meats and fish using traditional cooking methods and spices from the local area. Dinner will be served at the conclusion of class so that you might enjoy the fruits of your labour!

The 5th day will be dedicated to visiting local producers of traditional Cretan goods such as cheese and olive oil. Then back home to prepare dinner as group using the amazing ingredients we saw during our trip!

Day 6 There will be another excursion day followed by lunch and then back home to prepare dinner as a group.

Day 7 will begin with a leisurely breakfast and then a longer day of cooking some of the more demanding and technical dishes of Greek cuisine so that you can really wow people when you show off your skills and knowledge. A light lunch will be served before returning briefly to the kitchen to prepare the final touches before our final dinner together!

Day 8 you will depart in the morning. Happier, more relaxed, more educated and with friends and an experience to last a lifetime... or at least, till the next time.
Who are we?
Gabriel Pack
Gabriel is a classically trained chef and sommelier. He grew up and lives on the island of Paros but has studied and lived in multiple countries including the US and Italy. He has a passion for the art of food and deep desire to share his love of Greek culture and culinary tradition.
